Gudbrandsgard Wellness

At Gudbrandsgard Hotel you will find a swimming pool of 15 x 8 meters which is popular with both children and adults. Jacuzzis and saunas are adjacent to the pool.

Ringebu stave church

Christianity was introduced in Norway around the year 1000, and in the years after Christianity, close to 1000 stave churches were built during the Middle Ages until 1537. It is one of 28 remaining stave churches in this country, and one of the largest. There is church service on Sunday’s.

Alpine skiing

Experience direct access to the 39km ski resort just steps from Hyttekos Lodge. Purchase ski passes conveniently online before your arrival or at the resort using the ticket machines. The ski rental shop is located a 15-minute walk away. We recommend booking your lessons online in advance, as group classes and courses tend to fill up quickly.

Cross-country skiing

600 km of cross-country trails lead through a diverse and breathtaking scenery, and are designed to cater for all skill levels and weather conditions.

FIS World Cup

Kvitfjell is a regular stop on the World Cup circuit, hosting both men's wonen's speed events late in the season, since March 1993. The downhill course begins just below the summit and is slightly over 3 km in length

Bobsleighing Olympiaparken

Feel the rush of adrenaline in a fast-paced experience in the Nordic region's only bobsleigh track.

Vingnesvika Ice Skating Track

Vingnesvika Skøytebane is an ice skating track on the lake located in Lillehammer, offering public access during the winter season on a 400m track, a hockey ring and a 7km long track from Vingnesvika to Vingromkirke.

Ice skating at Lake Setningen

When weather permits, an ice skating rink is maintained on Lake Setningen. The rink is regularly cleared with an ATV in cooperation with local authorities. Enjoy skating on natural ice and warm up by the fire at the lakeside shelter.

Dog Sledding Venabu

Ice Fishing

The frozen lakes around Rondane River Lodge are bursting of trout. Try your luck and catch your own fresh meal. You can rent ice fishing material at Rondane River Lodge and they can teach you the right technique during an introduction lesson.

Besseggen hike Jotunheimen

The hike over Besseggen takes 6 to 8 hours including breaks and is one of Norway's most popular mountain classics. The green waters of the Gjende lake, cradled amidst the steep mountains of the majestic Jotunheimen National Park, create the perfect scenery.

Tverrådalskyrkja peak hike

Tverrådalskyrkja is a first-class 2000 meter peak. At the top, you find yourself on an edge with a view so incredible, you’ll need to pinch your arm. This spectacular and demanding trail is 10 kilometers and takes 8-10 hours.

Walk to Gudbrandsgard Hotel

Walk through the Kvitfjell Ski Resort from Hyttekos Lodge to Gudbrandsgard Hotel at the other side of the mountain. The walk takes up to 1 hr 30 min to return.

Høgkleiva Pilgrims’ Path

Enjoy great views of Kvitfjell and south into Gudbrandsdalen from Høgkleiva in Ringebu. The hike can be started at the beautiful Ringebu Stave Church, so you can kill several birds with one stone.

JU52 Plane Wreck

The plane was on its way from Fornebu to Banak via Værnes in October 1942, when it froze and an emergency landing was made in the mountains. Today, the plane wreckage still stands as a reminder of the incident, and it has become an exciting hiking destination for young and old.

BÃ¥nseterkampen Hike

This track leads to Prestkampen, the highest mountain in the area at 1244 m. This is a spectacular mountain ridge takes about 4 hours with steep cliffs to the south. There is a clear path along and out towards the edge of the mountain peaks, and great views.
